Me with 90210′s Shanae Grimes at Vancouver’s Express store opening
Pretty people mingled and sipped on Skyy Vodka cocktails at tonight’s opening party for the new聽Express聽store at Pacific Centre Mall聽in Vancouver. Hosted by Canada’s Fashion Magazine, the party featured choice ‘editors picks’ to help shoppers know what they simply must buy — as well as raffles which had give aways including Express gift cards, and personal style sessions with Fashion‘s western editor, Joy Pecknold.
I was just there to meet the gorgeous Shanae Grimes, there with her cutie boyfriend, who was nice enough to take our photo (above). I also spotted聽Glee star聽Mark Salling, who was looking fit as usual — and much taller in person than I would have thought ^-^

The store is quite big (8,000 square feet!), but not really somewhere I see myself shopping. A lot of the stuff looked a little bit ordinary, so it would probably suit for some people for sure — I did see at least a few people who left with purchases.
With over 600 stores, this marks the first shop in BC for Express. With better known fast-fashion competition like H&M in close聽vicinity, it should be interesting to see how Express does over here, and if it’s embraced by Vancouver shoppers.
